The B1 Process

While every project is different, most of our work follows the same core pattern.

We take the time to define the problem properly, explore the options, and then design and deliver with care. We stay involved through launch and beyond, supporting implementation and helping things bed in.

This approach allows us to create work that is practical, considered and built for long-term use.

Before anything else, we take time to understand your organisation and its context.

This means listening carefully to how things work day to day, where pressure points sit, and what success really looks like. We look at existing materials, research and data, and we pay attention to the constraints as much as the ambitions. The aim is to get beneath the surface and agree what actually needs attention.

Once the challenge is clear, we explore the options.

We test assumptions, consider different directions and look at what is possible, appropriate and realistic. This is a considered stage, focused on judgement rather than volume. Not every idea makes it through, and that’s deliberate. Clarity comes from knowing what not to do as much as what to pursue.

Design is where clarity starts to take shape.

Whether we’re working on brand, digital or campaigns, design is always rooted in the thinking that comes before it. We focus on creating work that feels confident, appropriate and usable. We’re not interested in ideas that only work in theory or visuals that look good but don’t hold up in practice.

This is where ideas become real.

We develop the assets, platforms or materials needed to bring the work to life, paying close attention to how they will be used day to day. The focus is on creating systems rather than one-off moments, so teams can apply the work consistently and with confidence.

Delivery is not the end of the process.

We stay close through launch, helping teams apply the work, answer questions and make adjustments where needed. Many of our client relationships continue well beyond a single project. In some cases, they span decades. That longevity comes from building trust and creating work that genuinely lasts.
